I am excited to say that I am participating in the Altenew Educator Certification Program. I love all the flower stamps that Altenew produces and they always amazing me with what they are releasing.
I’ve just completed the All About Layering 1 class. This is actually a free class to anyone from the Altenew website. I highly recommend taking it. What I really enjoyed was there were two videos, one introducing a layering stamp set and how to align the layering stamps. Very instructive with great examples. I feel so much more confident with stamping layered stamp sets. The second video took you through an example card design so you could see the stamp set being used. Finally, there was homework in which you practiced what you’ve learned and create your own card design.
Below I am showing you my card design using the Beautiful Day stamp and die bundle. I was inspired by the card example presented in the lessons, as the Altenew inks were used in generation stamping. I’ve tried this technique before with other inks and was so repeatedly disappointed, I really never tried it again. For my card, I used the Altenew jet black ink and stamped each layer image stamp with 3rd, 2nd and 1st generation stamping. The results are amazing, especially with black ink. I am so pleased I learned this about the Altenew inks. Its fabulous that Altenew provides their inks in 4 packs of similar color shades, but being able to generation stamp as well, really expands the color ranges of each individual ink pad. I incorporated adding embossing powder to the center of my colored flower using my Versamark pen. I also embossed my sentiment with the same power and love the how it nicely ties the entire card design together.
I hope you enjoy and are inspired by my card design below. My honest opinion about this class is: if you own any Altenew layering stamp sets, it is definitely worth the time (and you can’t beat the cost).
