All About Layering 2

Nicole Picadura is back!  Altenew has another class called All About Layering 2, staring Nicole!  The first All About Layering class was really good, and this one was equally.  In this class she reviews the stamp sets, where to find their layering guide if you need it, then walks you through how each of the stamps layer onto the next.  I found her technique of pin pointing and marking where each of the layers need to ‘match’ very helpful.  I’ve gotten better at it by practicing and knowing I need to run a few tests before I go to an actual card.

This is the last class in my Altenew Educator Certification Program.  My card today will use the Vintage Flower layering stamp.  The flowers in this set are so beautiful I could stamp them all day :).  My card used techniques from other classes I’ve taken as well: layering, masking, and adding sparkle.  To begin, I prestamped a number of images and laid out various positioning on a card until I liked the presentation.  I snapped a picture so I could refer back to my design.  My card uses the Altenew Cherry Blossom and Green Fields mini ink bundles.  I started by stamping the the bottom flower and leaves, masked the leaves then stamped the upper left flower and leaves.  Lastly, I fussy cut one of the flowers with a few leaves and popped those up in the lower left corner.  I added a few little flowers from the Vintage Flowers stamps set in blue scattered around to add variation to the scene.  My sentiment is from Build A Flower Rose: “I Smile When I Think of You”.  I’ve embossed this in gold to give the card some jazz.  The layering classes have definitely helped in my aligning of the images, as well, good lighting is a must.
