I love creating cards for challenges. First it’s fun creating but it’s also fun to see what everyone else does too. The challenge I’m going to submit to is with CASology: Week 298. The theme is Jungle. Below are the guildelines for creating your card.
(From the site) … remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
- One main image
- Lots of open space, uncluttered
- Limited layers & embellishments
- Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)
My card today uses this awesome Craftsmart Folder Stamp set my good friend picked up for me at Michaels Arts and Crafts for $2.00! Picture below -what a deal! This folder is awesome. To create my card, I placed an A2 sized piece of cardstock inside the folder and ran it through my Big Shot. This dry embosses the leaves onto the cardstock. I love how these leaves look!. Next, I stamped the flamingo from the set onto a piece of white cardstock. I found a sentiment that went well with the theme and stamped it as well, near the flamingo. I then strategically placed a circle die over the flamingo and partially die cut. I then used a rectangle die and placed it over the sentiment, again partially die cutting. This created the sentiment panel that I attached to the front of the card. I colored the flamingo with my Altenew Artist markers. I free handed drawing some water for the flamingo to stand in and added some sun rays that the flamingo is basking in. I trimmed the leaved embossed panel down by 1/2″ then added some glitter paper pink strips along the right and left sides. I adhered this to my top folding card. My flamingo and sentiment panel are mounted with foam tape with a bit of sparkly added to give some sunny shimmer. I hope you like!
