B&W with a POP

Below I am sharing a card I designed for the Power Poppy Power & Spark challenge.  Here are the challenge details:

HOW TO PLAY: Our “Black and White with a Pop of Color” Challenge is pretty self-explanatory and super simple from a creative standpoint — make your card or creation mostly black and white but then surprise us all with that pop of color!

I am using the Power Poppy Planning for Magnolia stamp set.  I stamped and embossed the large magnolia from the set onto white paper.  Using a black marker, I colored around the magnolia image leaving it white.  This is where I added my pop of color.  I used my Altenew Artist Markers, purples shades, and colored up the magnolia.  I stamped a second magnolia, colored and fussy cut it out. Using the same purple markers, I shaded the edges of my main card.  I dry embossed a stencil for the white background which was layered on the main card.  My main magnolia image is adhered directly to the white card panel and while the sentiment and second magnolia flower is foam mounted.  This is my black & white card with a pop of purple!

Fortunately for me, this also fits in with the Penny Black and More challenge – May – Anything Goes.  So I’ll be participating there as well.

  1. A really striking colour palette, the purple really oops against the black. Many thanks for sharing with us in our May theme at Penny Black and More challenge.
