Altenew Educator “Love & Friendship” Blog Hop +Giveaway (Closed)

Welcome to the Second Altenew Educator’s Blog Hop and Giveway! There are a lot of talented Artists participating in this hop, so be sure to check them all out. You should have arrived here from Teri Wilson’s page. Below I have a complete list below should you need it.

Being an Altenew Educator has been a wonderful experience for me. Hosting ‘class events’ has brought in so many new contacts that have become my new friends. AND, that is what this hop is about – Love and Friendship. Having friends that share the same passion with you is so motivating, rewarding an encouraging. I’ve not only made new friends by hosting classes, but all my blog followers and Instagram followers are always supporting and encouraging too. Of course, being part of the Altenew Educators program opens up another group of friends (and Artists) with the same passion and different card making ideas and skills. Such a great way to keep your friends and skills growing.

The cards I am presenting below are made as a set of four note cards. I am a big fan of the Build A Flowers stamps. Layering the images is so easy with the layering guide and the Altenew mini cube sets – you can’t go wrong. I’m using the Warm & Cozy orange toned inks to create my cards. I’m using the Build a Flower Poppy stamp set along with the Block Print stamp for the background.

As I’ve created a ‘set’ of cards, all the cards have the same concept, colors and images. I’ve used masking paper to mask off a rectangle area the size of the Block Print stamp image. I then stamped my layered Poppy image in the desired location. I placed a ‘mask’ over the Poppy image then placed my Block Print stamp where I wanted it to go. I inked the Block Print stamp and stamped it over my Poppy. Remove the mask and add the desired sentiment.

I’ve create a short video showing a technique I used to see if each of my layered stamps are positioned correctly before stamping onto my project. It is really quite quick and saves a lot of time and frustration (if you need perfection).

  1. I am COMPLETELY IN LOVE with your cards! I’ve already seen your video before coming to your blog and I am just so inspired. Love your idea to use the block print stamp for the background behind the poppy. It is just my favorite!!

  2. What a beautiful set of cards! I hadn’t considered the idea of making several with similar elements but differing layouts to create a set. I may need to give this a try!

  3. YAY!! Thank you so much! And now I looked at your cards for the third time, and fell in love all over again! Lol. 🙂
